Activision and Infinity Ward have officially revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and it is bringing back DMZ extraction mode on October 23, 2026. While the original DMZ beta was free-to-play, the new DMZ in MW4 is being built as a premium, fully integrated component of the game.
High-Stakes Extraction in Hajin
The action takes place in the Hajin Exclusion Zone, a contested tri-point border region on the Korean Peninsula.
Key Gameplay Features:
- Forward Operating Base (FOB): A persistent safehouse between deployments where you can craft gear using a new 3D printer system, manage your stash, and upgrade upgrades.
- Hajin Exclusion Zone Map: Features nine distinct regions including Hajin City, a heavily guarded prison complex, and an irradiated reactor site.
- AI Threat Escalation: Dynamic AI behavior that responds to noise. Going loud can trigger reinforcements ranging from heavily armored Juggernauts to attack helicopters.
- Dynamic Weather Cycle: Real-time shifting weather like heavy rainstorms and dense fog that actively changes visibility during a raid.
- Hunter Bounty System: Aggressive players who hunt down other squads will find themselves marked on the map with active bounties for the rest of the lobby to chase.
