The wait for the next installment of Grand Theft Auto has already been too long, but Rockstar Games has finally lifted the veil. GTA VI launches pre-orders on June 25th, and Rockstar wasted no time in revealing what we need to know about pre-ordering and playing the game.

Rockstar Confirms GTA VI Release Plans
Rockstar officially opened pre-orders for GTA VI on June 25, 2026. GTA VI will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, with no PC version launching alongside the consoles.
The official launch date for GTA VI is November 19, 2026, with the Standard Edition priced at a hefty $80. Those who want to jump in on the action right when it drops, you can pre-loading the digital version of the game on November 12, 2026. Those who buy a physical edition of GTA VI will get a standard case with a digital code inside, as, unfortunately, there will be no disk version of GTA VI.
Note: To ease the burden on the servers at the time of launch and let those who buy a physical copy of the game avoid the hassle of a giant download, GTA 6 ‘s physical code in box versions will be available for purchase at retailers starting on June, 25, 2026 and will be delivering on November 12, 2026. Although a few customer support representatives inadvertently misled customers into thinking there would be a physical disc version of GTA 6 available months after the game’s launch, Rockstar has no intention of releasing any disc-based copies of GTA VI. This decision has caused considerable controversy among the gaming community, but GTA 6 marks the beginning of the end of physical media as we know it.
Exclusive Bonuses Await GTA VI Pre-Order Customers
All pre-orders of GTA 6 made will receive GTA: Vice City ‘s vintage content as a gift, featuring the ‘55 Vapid Stanier vehicle, clothing, hairstyles, and weapon patterns from the beloved 2002 game. Additionally, if you pre-order GTA 6 digitally on PlayStation or Xbox, you get a free month of GTA+ service as a bonus, which can be claimed right away.
However, to get the full set of rewards, you need to upgrade your pre-order to the GTA 6: Ultimate Edition. It costs $99.99 or $20 more than the Standard Edition. Rockstar has gone one step further by adding new items to every chapter in the main story campaign of GTA 6: Ultimate Edition, rather than tacking them on to the end.

The most controversial aspect of the Ultimate Edition is undoubtedly the map businesses. For the first time, Rockstar is locking major gameplay features—like standard vehicle modification shops and specific clothing/hair salons—behind a premium edition wall.
If you are a standard edition player, you'll still have ways to customize your gear, but the premier shops will remain closed for business.
