Following months of speculation, SEGA and RGG Studio announced that Stranger Than Heaven will be launched worldwide on January 15, 2027, on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC.
Pre-orders for Stranger Than Heaven were opened across all three platforms. The Studio revealed that gamers could purchase the Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition, which includes in-game rewards like cosmetics and weapons. The news regarding this year’s highly anticipated entry in the franchise became one of the most exciting Xbox Game Pass releases for early 2027, as it will be available to Game Pass subscribers on Day-One for Xbox and PC.
Tupac Shakur Joins Stranger Than Heaven
One of the most notable surprises at the presentation was the confirmation that Tupac Shakur would appear in the game as a character named Amaru (Amaru is the late rappers middle name). According to RGG Studio, his appearance was made possible with the help of Amaru Entertainment, which worked with the developers to recreate the rapper’s appearance using photographs and video footage. The studio also noted that no AI technology was utilized for the creation of the character, in order to honor Shakur’s legacy.
Although the specifics of Amaru’s involvement in the game’s story remain unrevealed, the announcement has become one of the most talked-about aspects of the game.

The announcement also featured a reveal of the content of the Collector’s Edition, which offers an extensive list of accessories for those who want to support RGG Studio’s work and enjoy the game’s soundtrack.
The collector’s edition includes the following content:
